The Big Cedar Lake District has formally been notified that Lake shore Recycling Systems (LRS) has been aquired by GFL Solid Waste Midwest LLC. The change took place on March 1, 2025 and the transition process has started.

We have been informed that matters relating to the service schedule, pricing, contracts, and partnerships, all operations will remain business as usual. Any future changes will be communicated to the PRD, and passed on to lake district residents. 

GFL will be "Going Green", so you may notice their look start to change over time. Trucks will get the GFL logo and signature green paint, employees will be wearing uniforms of the same color.

There are NO changes to trash cart collection on Fridays for the district. Please continue to put your carts out on Thursday evening or very early on Friday morning to assure that you receive collection. (They are out early!)

BCLPRD provided commercial dumpsters located around the lake will be serviced on Thursdays moving forward, rather than Tuesdays.

Contact information for GFL will remain the same as LRS during the transition. The PRD will share new contact information as things are transitioned.
