Gonring Drive Launch Information

Launch Fees

The Gonring Drive launch requires a daily launch fee of $10, or a seasonal launch fee of $100 for launch usage from May 1 through September 30.

You may pay the daily fee any of the following ways:

  • Pay in cash, using the envelopes available at the launch. Insert the fee into the envelope and tear off the stub. Place the envelope and payment into the box provided. The stub should be placed in a visible location on the dashboard of your vehicle.
  • Pay on line, using this link -- Forms | HeyGov, or go to the Home page at this site, scroll down, and click the appropriate area to pay the fee.

You may pay the seasonal fee any of the following ways:

  • Pay paid online at Forms | HeyGov, or go to the Home page at this site, scroll down, and click the appropriate area to pay the fee.
  • Obtain the seasonal launch permit by contacting the Big Cedar Lake Protection & Rehabilitation District Office Monday-Friday at (262) 629-9322, or you can mail the $100 payment to Big Cedar Lake PRD, 4480 Gonring Dr., West Bend WI, 53095. Include your name, mailing address and license plate number of the vehicle you will be parking in the parking areas.

When Launching your Boat

  • Power launching and retrieving is prohibited (see ordinance section for details). The boat’s motor must be either turned off or in its neutral gear.
  • Be ready to launch when it is your turn. When your boat is launched, move it to the south pier before moving your vehicle to park. This will help to reduce wait times.
  • Minimize exposure to invasive species. Be sure your boat and trailer are cleaned and drained. A CD3 Waterless Boat Cleaning System is available at Gonring Drive and is designed to aid in the reduction of aquatic invasive species being introduced into the lake. Use of the CD3 system is free.
  • Ordinance cards and wake boat recommendations are available at the launch kiosk for your reference. Ensure all ordinances and recommendations are followed while enjoying the lake.

Parking

No vehicle is to be parked that does not have an attached boat trailer in either of the two parking lots operated by the Big Cedar Lake Protection & Rehabilitation District (BCLPRD) on Gonring Drive during the period from May 1 through September 30. No vehicle with a trailer is allowed to park on the north side of Gonring Drive, just west of the District Building in the single vehicle spaces. There is no parking in any area that is not a marked parking space. Violators will be ticketed and there is a potential for towing of a vehicle. See the full Parking Ordinance for specific details.

No Parking or Restricted Parking

There is no parking directly on Hwy 144, Gonring Drive, or other nearby roads. All areas with no parking are posted by the Town of West Bend.

Local businesses do not allow parking in their parking lots for the purpose of people using the lake, or for trailer parking. Plan ahead! Get to the lake early and car pool to reduce parking needs.
