Harvesting & Pier Pickups UPDATE September 24, 2024

Pier Pickups & Harvesting

Most of the flowering “weeds” have released from the lake bottom.

We are asking residents to collect floating weeds and place them at the end of their piers to be picked up by the barge on Wednesday, September 25 by 7am.

This is the last day for pier pickups for the season, and the barge will be out for a short time early on Wednesday morning, due to crew availability.

Thank you for your understanding and help this season!

Harvesting Operations are complete for the 2024 Season

It’s that time of the year, when the BCLPRD begins to coordinate arrangements for the large equipment to be inspected, maintained, repaired, and stored until next season.

The last day the harvester was out was on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 to skim selected areas of the lake. Assessments have been made to close harvesting operations for the season.

If you have any feedback to provide to the BCLPRD in regards to weed harvesting operations, please submit an email to [email protected] with details of concerns and questions.

The information will be shared with the Operations Committee that will be working on ways that the harvesting operations can be improved for the next season.

Thank you for your help and continued support in helping keeping Big Cedar Lake beautiful.
